Mini Pizzas
Slice an English muffin (or a bagel) in half and top with pizza sauce and grated cheese. Pop it in the microwave until the cheese melts (about a minute), and it's ready to go! Add pepperoni or other toppings.
Zesty Snack Crackers
Toss together one 12-ounce package of oyster crackers, one small package of dry ranch dressing mix (or your favorite seasonings), and 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil. Gently stir several times, until the oil is absorbed. Mixture will dry in a couple of hours. This is good to eat alone or with soups.
Take-Along Trail Mix
This is great brain and energy food, perfect for study time! Combine one box of granola, one package of M&Ms, one package of yogurt chips, one small package of dried fruit (raisins or dried cherries), and a handful of your favorite nuts. Mix everything together and store in plastic sandwich bags or an airtight container. It will keep a long time—if you can keep your dorm friends from eating it all up!
No-Cook Popcorn Cake
Pop one bag of popcorn. Melt 1/4 cup butter with 1/2 package small marshmallows. Pour melted mixture over popcorn. Stir in 1 package of peanuts, pecans, or candy (like M&Ms). Mold everything into a pan and let it set.
Five-Minute Fudge
Great for holidays (or any time you need a chocolate fix). In a gallon-size Ziploc bag, combine 1 lb. powdered sugar, 1/2 cup cocoa, 3 oz. cream cheese, 1 stick butter, and 1 tsp. vanilla. Try to keep all ingredients in the bottom of the bag. Knead ingredients until thoroughly mixed. The fudge is ready when a ball forms and ingredients pull away from the bag. Grab a spoon and eat it right out of the Ziploc!
